I’m nobody! Who are you?
\nAre you nobody, too?
\nThen there’s a pair of us \u2014 don’t tell!
\nThey’d banish us, you know.<\/p>\n

How dreary to be somebody!
\nHow public, like a frog
\nTo tell your name the livelong day
\nTo an admiring bog!<\/p>\n

WORDS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Be careful of words,
\neven the miraculous ones.
\nFor the miraculous we do our best,
\nsometimes they swarm like insects
\nand leave not a sting but a kiss.
\nThey can be as good as fingers.
\nThey can be as trusty as the rock
\nyou stick your bottom on.
\nBut they can be both daisies and bruises.<\/p>\n

Yet I am in love with words.
\nThey are doves falling out of the ceiling.
\nThey are six holy oranges sitting in my lap.
\nThey are the trees, the legs of summer,
\nand the sun, its passionate face.<\/p>\n

Yet often they fail me.
\nI have so much I want to say,
\nso many stories, images, proverbs, etc.
\nBut the words aren’t good enough,
\nthe wrong ones kiss me.
\nSometimes I fly like an eagle
\nbut with the wings of a wren.<\/p>\n

But I try to take care
\nand be gentle to them.
\nWords and eggs must be handled with care.
\nOnce broken they are impossible
\nthings to repair.<\/p>\n
